What makes up the fulfillment price?
Fulfillment costs for an online store consist of three main components: shipping orders, storing inventory, and receiving new stock. Shipping is the main cost, covering picking, packing, labeling, and carrier handoff. Storage is billed by the actual volume your products occupy on shelves. Receiving is a one-time operation for each new shipment arriving at the warehouse.
Additional charges may apply for multi-item picking (orders with more than one item), document printing, barcode stickering, and specialized services like FEFO tracking for cosmetics and pharmaceuticals. All services have fixed, transparent rates — no hidden fees.
Why are dynamic rates better than fixed?
Most fulfillment operators in Ukraine charge a flat rate — e.g., 25 UAH per order regardless of volume. MTP Group uses a dynamic scale: the more shipments per day, the lower the cost per order. At 200+ orders/day the rate is 18 UAH — 28% less than a typical flat rate. This model encourages growth: as your store increases sales, per-unit logistics costs decrease automatically.
What does fulfillment actually cost per month?
Let us look at a real example: an online store with 50 orders per day, 2 m³ of storage, and an average of 1.5 items per order. Storage: 2 m³ × 650 UAH = 1,300 UAH. Shipping: 50 orders × 22 working days × 23 UAH = 25,300 UAH. Extra picks: 50 × 0.5 × 22 × 2.50 UAH = 1,375 UAH. Total: approximately 28,000 UAH per month, or ~25 UAH per shipment including all costs.
Fulfillment vs in-house: which is cheaper?
At the same 50 orders per day, running your own warehouse costs at least 55,000 UAH: rent for 50 m² (~15,000 UAH), two packers’ salaries (~30,000 UAH), WMS system (~5,000 UAH), packing materials (~3,000 UAH), and utilities (~2,000 UAH). Fulfillment at the same volume — ~28,000 UAH. Difference — 27,000 UAH per month or 49% savings. And that is without counting your personal time, which with an in-house warehouse is 20-40 hours per week.
When does fulfillment not make sense?
Honest answer: if you ship fewer than 5 orders per day and your products do not need special storage, self-fulfillment may be cheaper. MTP Group’s minimum is 5,000 UAH/mo, which at 5 orders/day (110/mo) works out to ~45 UAH per shipment. For micro-businesses, this may be too early. The sweet spot is 20-30+ orders per day, where fulfillment starts saving not just time but money too.
